Bigfoot & Scout Earn Another Nomination

We interrupt this hiatus to announce that Bigfoot and Scout just earned another Reuben Nomination! I’m proud of those two! And win or no, we’re all very happy and honored to be nominated for a Silver Reuben in the category of Online Comics – Long Form. It’s actually the guys’ fourth nomination, and they’re just as surprised as I am.

Some friends from Pittsburgh also got a nod this year — Rob Rogers in the category of Editorial Cartoons, and Dave Klug in Variety Entertainment. Both nice guys who do great work. The Reuben Awards ceremony is May 18th in Huntington Beach, CA (during NCSFest), but I won’t be there. I’ll be at the Haverford Kids’ Comic Fest in Haverford, PA hanging out with some other cartoonist pals, talking about comics with creative kids. Best of luck to all the nominees!

Free Comic Book Day

Looks like I’ll be spending another Free Comic Book Day at Phantom of the Attic in Oakland. This year, FCBD is on May 4th, though the hours/times are still being finalized. If you want to come down and say hi, follow me on Twitter or Instagram where I’ll update you with details as they coalesce.

I can tell you I started working on a very simple mini-comic featuring Bigfoot and Scout. I thought it’d be nice to offer a low-cost, pocket-sized souvenir alongside my regular books. Hoping to bring these to both FCBD and Haverford.
